Täby Kyrka (Iglesia de Täby)

Täby Kyrka is located in Täby Kyrbky, Uppland, the northern part of Stockholm. By in swedish means village, and kyrka means church, so we can get that Täby Kyrkby means literaly ''Täby's Church Village''. It's a medieval church and is well known for its painted walls and cealings by Albertus Pictor.

It was built on the second half of the 13th century but it was first constructed as a squared hall church, it wasn't until 100 years later when the porch was built.

Sometime between the years 1425 and 1460 the church recieved a porch which is decorated with frescoes by an unknown painter. The nave of four cross vaults dates from 1475. It was in 1480 when Albertus Pictor provided the walls and ceilings his paintings. The altarpiece is from the 1470s and it's flanked by sculptures of St. Olaf, one important king in nordic history. Underneath there are four scenes of the passion of Christ, and they also appear the twelve apostles.

Death playing chess
The pulpit was a gift from Charles Xi in 1690, and before it's actual location, it was placed in the Royal Palace church. In the 20th century the church had some restaurations, one between 1959 and 1961 and they restore the outside of the construction and the other one between 1993 and 1994, when they restored the inside.

One of the things that I found more interesting was one of the paintings from Albertus Pictor, where death was playing chess with a man.
